Just wondering cause my account is gonna get put on hold, and i might have to GASP, BUY an ipod o I think I am gonna buy a mini, but for those of you that have the mini what is the battery life like? I have heard its only like 4 hours?? This true?? Basically, are their really over 1,000 songs you LIKE, and how is the battery life on the mini??
Thanks so much

I like more than 5K songs. There's a ton of great music out there, I mean hell, there's more than 5K great songs from just the basics, the standards, the beatles, dylan, zeppelin, van morrison, janis joplin, the kinks, etc. etc. etc. Just think about all that great music from just the 60's and the 70's. Then start cramming in everything from the last two decades. It all adds up. Then there's a crap ton of new great music, and I'm not talking top 40 MTV crap.

Stupid Q, but you CAN take songs off, right?
edit above post ^^, but I am only 15 so therefore i do not have ANY old cd's except some AC-DC!!! And it would be stupid to go out and buy it all. I just download music I like from the 80's and 90's

If you havent sent in for approval yet, do this. Send them a service ticket, and say that you fucked up and you didnt mean to. They told me to just not use the older one. So, thats what im gonna do. And if they put me on hold, ill give them hell about what they had told me.

If you are gonna spend the money, I say go ahead and spend the extra 50 bucks and get 20gb instead of 4gb, but that is just me.

I've got a 3G 20GB and a Mini. It was necessary for me to have them to start my iPod site up (I'm still looking for a coder). I like them both. My mini's in green. Supposedly, Apple's upping the iPod mini to 5GBs later this year to compete with the other 5GB players which have become the standard (Creative Zen Micro, iRiver H10, etc.). Both are GREAT. Since I have 28GBs of music, I'd say get the 20GB. BUT if you're not planning on having that much music and you're cost-conscious, then get the Mini. I'd still recommend getting one of the more full-featured players like the iRiver H320. It plays videos!

(. Rob, I don't have much time now, so I'll get you a link tomorrow. I still recommend getting the iRiver H10 (as a mini sized player) or waiting for the Zen Micro Photo (when it comes out, another mini sized player to be released in 6GB) instead of the Mini.

too damn long! I like how little it is though.
Does anyone have the 40 gig IPOD, if i was buying myself, i'd put the extra money down for it.

IMO mini = waste of money/referrals. (20 gig is of such better value.)
16 gigs extra is practically equivalent to another 3 mini's

here's what I don't get you'd think since gratis gives you options on whether you want iTunes gift cert, 20 gb iPod, or iPod mini, they'd also give you the option to get the 40 gb iPod and just get another referral or two. I'da totally done 7 referalls for the 40 gb.

Good idea, however my thought would be that they decided not to offer the 40gb to keep down costs.

There is a higher demand for the 20GB.

depends how much music you have....
depends how much music you'll download in the future.
those are the two main things that determine whether you need an iPod mini or 20GB.
Redundancy

Don't get a mini... The more space the better right? And it's only $50 more. And it's the same amount of referrals for the free sites. Maybe one day you'll need to add more songs. If not, use it as a hard drive to store your unused stuff on your computer or to transfer it to other computers. In my opinion, the mini is overpriced.
