So...does anyone out there really believe people can do it? (levitation)

I'm a sucker for magicians! Especially hot ones! It's the little girl in me!

Chris Angel really does some off the wall magic. He is very very good at illusions. How he does it, I have no freaking idea. But I assure you he isn't really walking on water, walking down the side of a building, or levitating.

Now some stuff he might actually be doing. Like when he took the manager of the car lot and found the keys to the viper w/o knowing where they were is a maybe. It seems like OMG but really he is just reading the person. Because no matter how hard that guy tried not to, he was still in very very small ways leading him to the keys.


edit I'm not at all trying to put down magic. I love magic, and actually at one point wanted to be a magician. My uncle actually is a pretty good magician and taught me quite a bit. My problem with magic was that it's not really the magic that is hard, because many tricks use the same basic principles and I can do quite well (another problem, many I dont' have the dexterity in my fingers). But magic is based mostly on showmanship. I can do the best magic all day, but I just dont' have the showmanship and without that magic really isnt' that exciting.

Its pretty much standing on your toe while rising your other foot. I know Chris Angel levitates out in public or in the street, but he probably uses cables for those.

to levitate, you cut one slit in one leg of your black pants from the knee down, right at the back.

Next, you make it so your shoes can stick together. (magnet)

Put your feet together.
Take your foot out of the shoe of the leg that has the slit in it.
Stand in front of something 1-2 feet tall that you could stand on otherwise.
take the shoeless foot, and put it on the 1-2 foot tall platform, and lift yourself up.

The audience in front of you won't see the leg come up, and you'll appear to levitate

I think its possible but not a worthwhile pursuit. Astral projection/lucid dreaming are much more reasonable and documented.

I loved watching David Copperfield when I was little but now, they have the shows on that explain how it is all done. Kinda ruined it for me when I started learning that none of it is "real". Oh to be so young and nieve again D

It's what I believe in. We only use a certain percentage of our brain. If we used more...well...just imagine the possibilities. Hell, if we can actually go out of our body...why can't we levitate. I'm sure we can, we just don't know how.

Unless you can create some kind of freaked-out magnet underneath you, and at the same time magnetize your own rear in the opposite pole, you don't have much hope of levitating.

This is innacurate. You use all of your brain. You use only a portion of neurons, but neurons are only for firing off signals...hardly something I would attribute to Jesus-like abilities.
