baseball's long season is much less obnoxious than football in the offseason and non-stop NFL live every day, and talking about the draft for 3 months before it happens.

Yankees? Jays? Red Sox? What is all of this. I am tired of the Baltimore Orioles finishing below .500 every year. Ever since Cal Ripken left they have gone down hill.
I would love it if they just made it above .500. Being in the playoffs i think is a few years off. They need to fire the owner. I think that will fix some things.
And it would be nice if it wasnt always the yankees in the playoffs.

Mets have really sucked it late in the season. I like them but they don't deserve to be in the playoffs if all they do is lose 5, 6 in a row.
Love them or hate them, the Yanks are playing very well going into the post-season.
Would've been cool to see the Rockies make it too with their win streak.

you're half right, they are still washed up.
they have managed to win despite mussina, pettite and clemens
they have managed to win despite abreu, giambi and damon
they have won because of arod, posada and cano.
they may be 25 games over, but it's been mostly with smoke and mirrors.
i'm a yankee fan and if they were to somehow win the world series, i'd retire from baseball for good.
but even though they have owned cleveland this year, i can't see them beating cleveland 3 times when they may have to face sabathia and carmona twice.

Yep. When I checked before, the padres were winning 3-0 but now they're down 10-6 in the 8th and the Rockies are tied right now so they have a good chance.

As for the yankees, I hated abreu early in the season but he picked things up to end up with over 100 RBI.

gay-rod is still choke. Yanks are old and dont have pitching. How they passed up getting quality starting pitching (Beckett) is beyond me. but I guess you should just be happy you made the playoffs.

i'd really like to see the division series be 7 games instead of 5, there's too much pressure on a team if they go down 0-2.
unfortunately the season is already stretched out into november and baseball shouldn't be played in that kind of weather.
oh yeah, tbs must be THRILLED for a colorado/arizona nlcs. no chicago, no philadelphia...70 percent of the country lives east of denver and won't give a damn...they would probably get better ratings with alice reruns.

He batted .324 with 21 homers and 120 RBI in 2007, and batted over .352 in the playoffs (and won the World series MVP). He had more errors than usual in 2007 but otherwise he's a solid 3rd baseman. Now how does that suck?
