I found a list of 25 most dangerous cities. It breaks it down by Population and the Metro Area itself. For the Metro area here are the towns in Louisiana on the top 25. (link http//www.morganquitno.com/cit04pop.htm )
Top 25
2. New Orleans, LA
7. Alexandria, LA (where I live)
10. Shreveport-Bossier City, LA
11. Baton Rouge, LA
21. Lake Charles, LA
5 out of the 25. Nice. The state with the 2nd most cities listed Arizona with 3. And none of them are in the Top 10. Pitiful.
I can not WAIT to move out of this state...

Reading is a shit hole
The list is inaccurate.
Anchorage, AK is the worst city to live in. There is usually 1 murder per day, PLENTY of robberies, and there was one time when I was driving on C street, and some crazy ruffian pointed a gun at me (from the sidewalk) and started shouting obscenities. He didn't fire any shots, I just got the hell out of there.

Detroit is the worst. But I'm shocked to see that Anchorage isn't on the list... It has to be at least the 2nd or 3rd worst city in the U.S.

That shatters my stereotypical image of every city in Alaska being like the show Northern Exposure lol
I almost got to go to Anchorage for Oracle PL/SQL training in the summer, but I couldn't get my boss to cover the $800 plane ticket (

I can see how New Orleans would be at the top since Katrina has affected the poverty rate; however, I had read somewhere before that St. Louis was the most dangerous city, and I had always wondered why...

Wow Ny is ranked as one of the safest cities. I suppose that is due to the heavy presence of the NYPD. They are omnipresent in the city. Seem like they are on every block. Surprising they have kept the city safe since it was once one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
