Aquafresh Contest

Hey everyone,

I have a favor to ask of you. I am currently entered in this video contest on youtube for Aquafresh. The contest involves making a 30 second commercial.

60% of your overall score is based on judges votes, and 40% is based on views on youtube.

I put a lot of time into this thing and really need support.... all you gotta do is watch the 30 second video. Please take a look, and tell me what you think

I used Maya 6 for this one. Post-production in Premiere Pro.

First place in this contest gets $10k plus a trip for 2 to a commercial shoot of some sort. 2nd place gets a macbook, ipod, printer, and some software, 3rd place gets a $2k Best Buy gift card.

I need to start trying to put my 3D skills to work... i don't think I could quite produce the stuff you are though... I work with lightwave, but havn't got very far into it yet...

I don't think he is. The one with the most views has 95,000 of the bastards and it's terribly unfunny and embarrassingly bad.

I must say, that commercial was pretty impressive. It was unlike most other toothpaste commercials where you see a girl brushing her teeth and then smiling right after.
I really like the fact that it was different and how you incorporated some new themes and ideas.

Actually yes and no. The 40% of one's total score that's based on views per minute means that its total views divided by total minutes online.

Mine was submitted last...on Dec 7th... or about 5.5 days ago. This guy's was submitted about a month ago.

I spent half an hour looking at the ones that are ahead of mine in total views and discovered that there's only 3 videos that have a higher views per minute, including that one... so I'm technically 4th place in that category.

I hope and pray that the judges will give me just enough points that the combination of the two criteria lands me in to top 3....

Otherwise its 60-70 hours gone to waste.

At least I learned some good stuff about Maya while making it D
