Someone PMed me saying someone was doing this with my name, too; see my post in the bad traders thread. If you didn't meet me here, it's not me! I don't IM people for refs, ever. My AIM is mistwolf2, but I like never send messages. )

I don't believe the record system ever claimed to "stop" fraud, just reduce it. This is something that's really beyond the trading record's domain, so it really can't do anything. All they could really do is put up a suggestion that says to make sure that if someone messages you through something that's not on the site (email, AIM) that they are who they say they are.

Yeah... we can do some things but checking someone's profile to check that kind of thing and/or asking them to send a PM is just common sense...
