	Hey everyone,
I was just wondering what all your thoughts were on the best programs to use and tools to use to convert VHS home movies to DVD. I would like a pretty high quality transfer if at all possible. at least one decently viewable on tv. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks

For best quality, yeah you need one. A wintv pvr-150 is probably the best and easiest solution.

Cost? 100-150$ less if used. Just depends whether you buy it instore on the internet.
Resolution? Max 480. Its a hardware decoder so it will go small file sizes. 4.7gigs is a dvd of 2 hours you can go bigger or smaller just depends on quality desired.

depending on how much you have to do, I might hire someone. I know at least one user here does this as a part of a larger business.

i am trying to do it for my parents. i have looked around and every place i have seen has charged around 20 to 30 dollars per dvd or 2 hour tape. and my parents have nearly 80 tapes....thats why i was wanting to do it myself....would that card do the trick? i do want to do this myself, but make it good. i can handle the editing, its capturing it in good res i need help with. thanks
