I'm looking for a good price on a blue ray and/or HD DVD player. I wanna get my father one for Christmas but I don't want to spend a ton!
Any ideas would be great!

I am in the market as well. The HD DVD player + 10 (or 15?) free movies for $200 promotion just ended, but I think there should be a lot of Blue-ray and HD DVD deals coming up.

Hey everyone. I have an extra Toshiba HD-A3 that I was about to take back. Got it for $199 + tax (~$219). Now it's $299 + tax (~$329). It comes with 2 Free HD-DVDs in the Box (300 and The Bourne Identity) and a rebate form for 5 more free HD-DVDs.
I'd be willing to sell it for cost + shipping... so around $255 - $260 shipped. I can include the receipt and everything.
Wasn't going to sell it, but saw this thread, and thought I'd put it out there. )

That is really expensive compared to ebay.

They are going for ALOT less on ebay. You're not the only person who bought a few of the HD-DVD players, and now they are overflooding ebay.
Your best bet is to go on to slickdeals periodically to see any new deals on the dvd player.

I didn't realize they were so cheap on eBay. Guess a lot of people bought these to try and resell? That was not why I ended up with an extra one, but I will probably just return it to the store then. )

You might want to wait before you pull the trigger.
I have a good feeling that the $99 HD DVD promotion will be back in full swing for the holidays.
